The concept

Did you know that most Canadians think that responsible products are often too expensive and hard to find? 

With that in mind, we created Simplitude: an online shop that offers a wide variety of responsible products for Canadian families, at unbeatable prices all year round. 

We want to make sustainable shopping more accessible in terms of pricing and variety. It’s also important to encourage the brands we sell products from, and that’s why we don’t take a margin on their sales. Obviously, we take a few small fees here and there so we can continue to operate, but it’s minimal compared to what other distributors usually take. 

In simple terms, we make the bulk of our revenue from our yearly memberships. 

Our mission is to allow everyone to transition towards a more sustainable way of living without compromise. 

By cutting our margin to offer you the best possible price, we allow thousands of Canadian families to have access to positive impact products. 

With Simplitude it’s now possible to save money while securing a better future for our kids, all in the comfort of your own home. 

All the products we sell on Simplitude are carefully selected. We ensure they have a positive impact whether it be from an environmental, health or ethical point of view. 

Each product has a few criteria to meet :

1. Canadian business

2. Made in Canada (can be made elsewhere, but only if local expertise isn’t available)

3. The product must fit into at least one of the following categories :

  • Vegan
  • Organic
  • Natural
  • Zero waste
  • Recycled material
  • Fair trade

Our decisions can also be influenced by the labels, certifications and standards the brands we work with follow. We also evaluate their impact and the engagement they have towards our common mission. 

At Simplitude, you can shop with your eyes closed; all our products are safe and centered around your well-being. 

For us, it’s important that everyone wins, whether it be us, the consumer, or the brands we work with. 

We can offer you these prices because we don’t take any commission on the sales prices, and the brands we work with allow us to cut our margins for you. 

We work directly with our brands towards a same objective: make responsible shopping part of every Canadian household’s daily lives without them having to compromise. 

Soon! We’re working towards it, but we were just so excited to launch Simplitude, that we chose to translate the essential pages only. 

Yes, a thousand times yes! 😉 We’re just getting started. We’ll be adding new products, new categories, and we’ll add suppliers from other provinces as well. 

Absolutely not! We use each manufacturer’s suggested retail price for all of our products. We have deals with each of our manufacturers, and they agree to having their products at a permanent discounted price on our website because we significantly cut our distributor’s profit margin. 

Simple! We want to lower our carbon footprint by limiting the coming and going of delivery trucks at our warehouse. Why Tuesdays? It gives us a day (Monday) to prepare your orders from the weekend! 

We do, but only in Montreal and surrounding areas of the north and south shore. However, we’re actively looking for new alternatives for the rest of Quebec and Canada as well. 

We added the option to add a small amount to your order that offsets the carbon emissions from the manufacturing of your products, their container and the shipping from our vendors to us, and us to you. The amount is donated to organisations that fight against climate change. 

Membership

Of course! Everyone can shop on Simplitude, with or without being a member. 

However, our membership allows you to save on all our products, all year long. Plus, if your membership doesn’t pay for itself by the end of the year, we’ll refund the amount paid minus the savings you made during the year. So, there’s really no risk to becoming a member! 

With Simplitude, not only do you save money, but you also gain a lot of time you’d spend on finding and travelling to shops who offer responsible products. In simpler terms, we offer you peace of mind. 

1. Find everything you need in one place: we offer a wide range of responsible products for the whole family. 

2. Save all year long: by becoming a member, you have access to permanent discounts that go up to 50% on all our products. 

3. Filter our products according to your preferences: vegan, organic, natural, recycled material, zero waste, fair trade.

4. Follow your savings in real time: your savings are saved each time your checkout (feature will be available soon). 

5. You can’t lose! If your membership hasn’t paid for itself by the end of the year, we’ll refund the amount you paid for your membership after subtracting the savings you’ve made during the year*. 

*Yearly memberships only

Simple. If your membership hasn’t paid for itself by the end of the year, we will refund the difference between the price you paid and your savings*. 

For example: You purchased the membership at 120$. You saved 40$ throughout the year by paying for member pricing on all your purchases. We will deduct 40$ from the membership price: 120$-40$=80$. The refund amount will be 80$. 

*Yearly memberships only

To get a refund on your membership, you need to send us a request at info@simplitude.ca 12 months after your purchase

We’ll evaluate your request, and process your refund. Take note that the refund can take up to 14 days to appear on your credit statement. 

You can cancel your membership up to 10 days after purchase if you haven’t purchased any other products. Simply send us an email at info@simplitude.ca, and we’ll process your refund. Note that it can take up to 14 days to appear on your credit statement. 

If you made a request 10 days after your purchase, or have purchased any other products, we will not be able to process a refund. However, you can still cancel your account for the following period. 

For your convenience, our memberships automatically renew. 

If you wish to cancel your membership, simply write us an email to let us know at info@simplitude.ca. 

Note that if you entered a promo code with a discount on your membership, only the first payment will be discounted. All following recurring payments will be at regular price. 

Yes and no; your membership gives you access to free shipping only if you spend over 80$. 

What a great idea! It’s a great way to please your employees, to show them that you care, and to incite them to make more responsible purchase decisions.

Seasonal discovery box

The seasonal box contains local AND responsible products, and It’s a different box every season! We want to surprise you with the products that are in our boxes, so you won’t be able to know what it contains until you open it (but we’ll give hints and sneak peeks on our social networks!)

You will receive 6 to 8 products, namely:

2 to 4 food items (all vegetarian)
2 skincare and beauty products (all vegetarian)
1 to 2 household product(s)
1 to 2 home products

You will also receive 3 to 5 product samples, and delivery is free throughout Quebec and Ontario.

As a general rule, it is not possible to modify the contents of the box. On the other hand, if you are vegan or have dietary restrictions / allergies, simply let us know and we will do our best to adapt the contents of the box.

Know that we try to select products that will appeal to as many people as possible.

Yes of course! You can pause or stop it whenever you want. Here’s how:

1. Go to My Account.

2. Click on Manage my subscription

3. Select your subscription

4. Choose what you want to do: “Cancel” or “Pause”

It’s important to note that these actions must be carried out 5 days before the date of dispatch, i.e. February 20, May 20, August 20 and November 20. So if you stop or pause your subscription on February 23, you will receive the February seasonal box but not the May one.

Since the box contains a variety of products and some are not eligible for returns, we do not accept any returns for seasonal boxes. 

What a great idea! Just put the other person’s shipping address when checking out.

Spring Box: February 25
Summer box: May 25
Fall Box: August 25
Winter box: November 25

These dates are approximate. You will receive an email notification with a tracking number to track its journey to you.

Although you cannot choose what the box contains, we carefully select varied and useful products so as not to create waste but on the contrary, to allow you to discover new local and responsible products, which subsequently could become part of your daily life 😉

This box is on a mission to convince people to incorporate responsible products into their lives with ease, and without risk or effort.
